For city councils and other public administrations
An SOS with location, in under 8 seconds
NIU·CLIC is a safety system that sends an alert with the person's real-time location to a trusted contact or to the Purple Point service. It is built into an everyday item with an NFC chip —scrunchie, elastic or silicone wristband, keychain or pin badge—: you bring your phone close and the system opens by itself.
No app, no sign-up and no personal data handed over · In Personal mode: one contact via WhatsApp (Android and iOS) or up to five via SMS (Android only)

Barcelona's Punt Lila al mòbil at La Mercè
Barcelona City Council has adopted NIU·CLIC in Purple Point mode, as a pilot, for the 2026 Festes de la Mercè, under the name Punt Lila al mòbil (the Purple Point on your phone).
All it takes is bringing the phone close to the wristband or keychain and pressing the SOS button to ask for help. The alert arrives immediately, with the real-time location, at a professional in the Purple Point coordination centre, who handles it according to the protocol. When the Purple Point is closed, the same screen shows a direct button to call 112 and the City Council's support services.
The system includes a management dashboard where the team classifies each alert according to the categories of the municipal protocol and generates reports instantly, with access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

NIU·CLIC is a safety system built into an everyday item with an NFC chip.
When the person brings their phone close, the chip opens the SOS screen directly. From there, with two taps, they send an alert with their real-time location.
There is no app to install, no account to create and no personal data to hand over. The settings are stored on the user's phone, not on our servers.
It is NIU's own technology, with a utility model application filed at the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM). We handle the system design, the platform, the design of the items and the support for each municipality.

Time from bringing the phone close to the alert being sent.
0

3
Modes: trusted network, Purple Point or hybrid.
How it works
Three steps, and that's it
It is set up only once. From then on it is ready whenever it is needed.
1
Set up once
The person chooses who to alert and saves it on their phone. They can change it whenever they want. In Purple Point mode, the recipient comes pre-configured.
2
Bring the phone close
When needed, bring the phone close to the item. The SOS screen opens directly, with no need to unlock anything or look for an app.
3
Two taps and sent
Tap the SOS button and confirm. The message goes out with the location, which keeps updating in real time until the person decides to stop it.
NIU·CLIC does not replace 112
In the face of serious and immediate danger, call 112. NIU·CLIC is designed for the far more frequent moments when nothing clear enough has happened yet to mobilise emergency services, but the person does not feel safe.
The three modes
One system, three configurations
The item and the technology are the same. What changes is who receives the alert, and when. You can start with one mode and switch to another without changing the items.
Mode 1
NIU·CLIC Personal
The alert goes to each person's trusted network.
Each user chooses who receives the alert: one contact via WhatsApp (Android and iOS) or up to five contacts via SMS (Android only). They can change it whenever they want.
It is the mode for everyday life: walking home at night, waiting in the street, an uncomfortable situation that doesn't justify calling 112 but where it is reassuring that someone knows and can see where you are.
Set up by the user
Can be changed at any time
Data stored on the phone, not on our servers
Suited to wide distribution among the public
Mode 2
NIU·CLIC Purple Point
The alert goes straight to the Purple Point service.
The system is delivered already configured with the municipality's Purple Point phone number. The person doesn't need to do anything: they bring the phone close and the alert reaches the team, with their real-time location.
This means the person can be helped wherever they are, without having to walk to the tent. If they are at the other end of the venue or have already headed home, the team can still find them.
Pre-configured with the Purple Point phone number
The alert can go to the Purple Point team or to the Local Police
Remote support, no need to move
Two channels: the message arrives by messaging and, in parallel, the location reaches the dashboard
Case management dashboard for the support team
Outside opening hours, it shows the next service days and municipal resources
Suited to local festivities, 25N and events with teams on the street
Purple Point when it is open; trusted network the rest of the time.
When the Purple Point is open, the alert reaches the team (or the Local Police, if you so decide). When it is closed, it goes to each person's trusted contacts. The switch is automatic, based on the calendar.

Why a municipality needs it
For the grey zone no service covers
There are many situations in which a person doesn't feel safe but nothing clear enough has happened to call anyone. NIU·CLIC is with them in those moments, wherever they are and at any time.
Festivities and nights out
Concerts, street parties and nightlife venues where the Purple Point needs a tool people carry with them.
Walking home
Quiet streets, industrial estates, paths and poorly lit areas of the municipality.
Transport and waiting
Bus stops, stations and car parks, especially early in the morning and late at night.
Young people and students
Nights out, first dates and journeys home from schools and universities.
Formats and customisation
The same system, in the format you choose
All formats carry the same NFC chip and work in exactly the same way. Choose the one that best fits the campaign and its audience.
Scrunchie
Worn on the wrist or in the hair.
Elastic wristband
Elastic fabric, one size. Discreet and comfortable to wear every day.
Wristband with wood
The elastic wristband with a wooden detail, for a more natural finish.
Silicone wristband
Durable and waterproof. Designed for events and large-scale distribution.
Keychain
Always goes with your keys. Ideal for reaching diverse audiences.
Pin badge
Works well as a campaign item.
Exclusive design for each municipality
We don't adapt a template with your coat of arms on top. We design and illustrate a unique proposal for your municipality, created for your campaign and not repeated anywhere else.

Management dashboard · 24/7 access
Data to make decisions, without compromising privacy
Each council has its own dashboard, accessible at any time. The two dashboards are different because they meet different needs: the Personal mode one works only with anonymous, aggregated data; the Purple Point one is a case management tool and does process the data needed to help the person.
NIU·CLIC Personal dashboard. Purple Point mode also includes a case management dashboard for the team that handles alerts. Hybrid mode includes both.

What it's useful for
Prioritising urban interventions
If an area concentrates activations at certain times, you have documented evidence to review street lighting, vegetation clearing, visibility or night transport there. It stops being a hunch and becomes data.
Adjusting police presence and the Purple Point
The time slots and days with the most activations tell you where and when to reinforce presence, and whether the Purple Point is open when it is really needed.
Justifying the grant
The PDF report can be attached directly to the State Pact report: usage figures, period, reach and data protection safeguards in a single document.
Evaluating the campaign
By comparing periods you can see whether the promotion worked, whether usage continues after the festivities and what real return the investment has had.
Supporting the equality plan
It adds quantitative evidence to assessments that until now relied only on surveys, exploratory walks and one-off complaints.
From perception to evidence
Until now, the areas where women don't feel safe were known through one-off complaints or exploratory walks. With NIU·CLIC you have objective data from your own municipality, collected continuously and without asking anyone for anything.
In the Personal mode dashboard, all information is anonymous and aggregated. Coordinates are truncated to about 110 metres —the size of a city block— and areas with fewer than three activations are not shown, so no activation can be linked to any person. Compliant with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the Spanish LOPDGDD.
It is both a safety tool for the public and a planning instrument for the Equality, Urban Planning and Safety departments, with information that was not available until now.

How it is funded
Fundable through the State Pact
Every year, Spanish councils receive ring-fenced funds from the State Pact against Gender Violence for prevention, awareness and support actions. NIU·CLIC fits perfectly: it is a real prevention tool and, at the same time, an awareness action with a tangible item that reaches the public directly.
01
Prevention and awareness at once
The deployment is not just the items: it includes customisation with your branding, the promotion campaign and support throughout the process.
02
Easy to justify
A single invoice, a deployment report and anonymous, aggregated usage data to include in your monitoring report.
03
Compatible with what you already do
It integrates with Purple Points, 25N campaigns and festival safety plans, without duplicating resources or replacing anything you already have in place.
04
Adapted to your budget line
We define the scope of the deployment —formats, quantities and campaign length— based on the budget you have available.
Complete information dossier with formats, how it works and communication materials
Examples of councils that have already deployed it, with cases similar to yours
Tailored quote by format, quantity and type of campaign

Website ownership
In compliance with Article 10 of Spanish Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), the identifying details of the owner of this website are as follows:
This legal notice governs the use of the website niuclic.cat, owned by NIU, Il·lustració i Artesania Tèxtil, S.L. (hereinafter, "NIU"). Browsing this website confers the status of user and implies full and unreserved acceptance of all the provisions included in this legal notice.
Intellectual and industrial property
All content on the website (texts, photographs, graphics, images, icons, technology, software, trademarks, trade names, designs) is the property of NIU or of third parties who have authorised its use. Any unauthorised reproduction, distribution, public communication or transformation constitutes an infringement of intellectual and industrial property rights.
The NIU·CLIC system is in the process of being protected as a utility model before the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM).
Limitation of liability
NIU·CLIC is not an official emergency service. It is a prevention and support tool that complements —but does not replace— emergency services. In case of imminent danger, always call 112.
The operation of the system depends on factors beyond NIU's control (phone battery and condition, network coverage, GPS, operating system and browser, availability of contacts and of third-party services such as WhatsApp or the carrier's SMS). NIU provides the service with the utmost diligence, but «as is» and «as available», without guaranteeing that it will work uninterruptedly, instantly or error-free in all circumstances.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, NIU accepts no liability for direct or indirect damages arising from unavailability of the service, failures of coverage, battery or devices, trusted contacts not receiving or not acting on the alert, or incorrect or fraudulent use of the system. None of this excludes or limits NIU's liability where the law does not allow it to be excluded —in particular for wilful misconduct or gross negligence— nor the rights that consumer protection legislation mandatorily grants. If any clause is declared void, the rest shall remain fully valid.
Applicable law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law. For any dispute arising from the use of the website, the parties submit to the courts of Tarragona.
Privacy Policy
In compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on Personal Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD), NIU provides information on the data processing policy of the website niuclic.cat.

Purposes and legal basis
NIU processes the personal data that users provide voluntarily for the following purposes:
Handling information requests (council form, general contact): legal basis of express consent.
Order management and invoicing: legal basis of contract performance and legal tax obligations.
Visit statistics for this website, first-party and anonymous: we count which sections are visited, for how long and from which approximate area. We don't use cookies or store anything on your device; the IP address is used for an instant to estimate the area and is not stored. Legal basis: NIU's legitimate interest in improving the website (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).
Subsequent commercial communications about new NIU products: only with express consent, which can be withdrawn at any time.
How the NIU·CLIC system handles data
The NIU·CLIC system is designed on the principles of data minimisation and privacy by design. In Personal mode:
Trusted contacts configured by the user are stored only on their mobile device. NIU has no access to them, no storage and no copy.
SOS messages are prepared on the device and sent from the user's own phone (via WhatsApp or SMS).
Only the GPS location is sent to NIU's server while the SOS session is active, to generate the temporary tracking link. This data is deleted automatically when the SOS is closed or after a maximum of 2 hours.
The server does NOT record: IP address, name, phone number, device identifier or any data that could identify the user.
An anonymous activation log may be generated (date, time, session hash, municipality and approximate area, with coordinates truncated to about 110 metres) for aggregated statistical purposes. This log cannot be used to identify anyone.
In Purple Point mode, the alert and the location reach the team running the Purple Point so they can help the person. In this case, the data controller is the council or administration providing the service, and NIU acts as data processor under Article 28 GDPR. The user's phone number is only processed if they provide it voluntarily. Detailed information is shown on each municipality's system screen.
Retention period
Personal data is kept for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and, afterwards, for the applicable legal periods (tax, commercial, etc.).
Recipients
NIU does not share data with third parties, except where legally required or with providers strictly necessary to provide the service (web hosting, the Formspree form service and, if you accept analytics cookies, Microsoft Clarity). These providers act as data processors with the safeguards required by the GDPR. Formspree and Microsoft may process data in the United States; these transfers are covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
User rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing, portability and not to be subject to automated decisions by emailing contacte@niucoop.cat and stating the right you wish to exercise.
If you consider that the processing does not comply with the regulations, you can lodge a complaint with the Catalan Data Protection Authority (apdcat.gencat.cat) or the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
